Some side effects of pharmazeutical drugs can be even worse, if abused. It is the nature of a drug, to use it when needed, and not out of fun. I don't use pharmazeutical pain killers out of fun, the side effect of the most of them is a damage to the stomach and the kidneys. I do not use antibiotics out of fun either, as it has very harmful side effects. Same with coffee, tea, cigarettes, alcohol - I think those have side effects too, if overused...
